Help, you must train me!

Help! I need training!

Puppy training begins with training yourself.  It is important to set the ground work in yourself before you take on the task of raising a puppy.  You need to have it clear in your own mind that you are the pack leader before you can train your puppy that you are the pack leader.  Your puppy will quickly learn to read the your body language and your confidence level.  She will know if you feel like you are in control or if you feel like she is in control.  Being in control of your puppy training is a key element to your success as a puppy trainer.  When you are confident of your status as the pack leader, your puppy will also be confident of it.  As a result, your puppy will find joy in pleasing you.  Consistency is  another key element for puppy training.  Once you know what you need from your puppy, it is important for you puppy to know what you need  from her.  Being consistent in enforcing what you need her to learn is the key to your puppy knowing what you need from  her.   Along with being consistent you have to be patient.   Always remember that your puppy, although eager to learn and eager to please you, she is still a puppy in training.  When your puppy training is conducted with you as the the pack leader,  with you being consistent in the training, and with a world of patience, You have a great foundation to begin your puppy training.  Take these key elements along with your love for your puppy and you have a win-win situation for both you and your puppy.  Proper puppy training is just the beginning of a long happy health relationship between you and your puppy
